The C in Chennai stands for Consistency, Commitment and Class, with the best example given by their emphatic 31-27 victory over Rajasthan Warriors at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha on Friday.

The win takes Chennai Quick Guns to the third spot in the points table, with 8 points from two wins and a tie. On the other hand, Rajasthan Warriors are still at the bottom of the table with no points from four matches.

Chennai started strong, and within four minutes of Turn 1, the temperature, the angst, and the excitement of this matchup rose to a high. While Rajasthan got their initial points, Chennai Quick Guns’ Laxman showed impressive defensive prowess by staying on the field for 4 minutes and 29 seconds. This won his team three Dream Run points, but Chennai would trail by a score of 3-10 at the end of Turn 1.

But the Rajasthan Warriors wouldn’t give in. They overcame the attacking prowess of Ramji Kashyap and Suraj Lande (both Sky Dives) and Sachin Bhargo (Pole Dive). The Warriors relied on all-rounder Nandan, who won three Dream Run points and got the teams level at 13-13 going into half-time.

Turn 3 would see Rajasthan take the attack and consolidate their advantage to 27-13, but what would be waiting in Turn 4 would be a surprise.

Chennai Quick Guns showed why they are the title contenders for Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2, as they not only won the lead in Turn 4 but also ensured that Rajasthan Warriors wouldn’t leave the arena with a point. Sachin Bhargo, Durvesh Salunkhe, Ramji Kashyap and Laxman Gawas combined to turn the tables and condemn Rajasthan to their fourth successive defeat in Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2.

While Chennai Quick Guns will target the top spot in the UKK Season 2 points table when they face Mumbai Khiladis on December 30, Rajasthan Warriors will look to get their first win of the campaign when they meet the Khiladis a day later on December 31.
