The countdown to the start of Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2 has now reached ZERO.
The much-awaited second edition of the celebrated league dedicated to one of India’s most sacred sports disciplines is finally HERE. What started as an initiative to give a competitive platform to Kho Kho is now an internationally recognised conclave to entertain, educate and elevate the promise of the grass-roots sport.
The UKK season 2 will be held entirely in the pompous city of Odisha, and with another campaign of heart-pumping and exhilarating exhibitions of Kho Kho, let’s take a sneak peek into what awaits us on matchday 1.
Match 1: Odisha Juggernauts vs Rajasthan Warriors
There couldn’t be a better way to start the UKK season 2 with hosts Odisha Juggernauts playing in front of the home crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack. Led by Dipesh Vijay More, the Juggernauts have assembled a new team, brimming with energy and experience and are out to defend their title in style.
On the other hand, the Rajasthan Warriors will aim for a change in fortune and put last season’s performance behind them. Majahar Jamadar, one of the bright prospects in UKK Season 1 and someone who earned a spot in the Dream Team with his 105-point return, is poised to make a strong statement this time.
Match 2: Telugu Yoddhas vs Mumbai Khiladis
UKK Season 1 runner-up Telugu Yoddhas will look to go one step further as they start their quest for Ultimate Kho Kho glory against Mumbai Khiladis. The Yoddhas have bolstered their team by acquiring all-rounder Milind Dilip Chavarekar from champions Odisha Juggernauts, and with the influx of new talents, one can expect the team to be title challengers once again.
Mumbai Khiladis finished fifth in Season 1, but they were one of the three teams to inflict a league-stage defeat on eventual champions Odisha Juggernauts. The Mumbai-based franchise will entrust experienced players Sreejesh S and Hrushikesh Murchavade to inject a renewed hunger for entertainment and a winning mentality.
