It was a Sunday special treat when we witnessed two heavenly clashes and with today’s matches, we will look to unfold the mystery of the standings. Chennai Quick Guns will face Mumbai Khiladis in what could be a virtual quarter-final for the fourth team to make it to the playoffs, in the first game at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Pune. After which, we will see the Telugu Yoddhas battling it out against Gujarat Giants to take revenge for their previous loss, in the second match of the evening.

Let’s have a look at what all to expect on the 13th matchday of Ultimate Kho Kho.

Match 25: Chennai Quick Guns vs Mumbai Khiladis

Chennai Quick Guns have played eight matches so far and have won and lost four matches this season. They will look to tighten their screws when they meet Mumbai Khiladis in the upcoming fixture. They will enter this game after a dominating win against Rajasthan Warriors. Ramji Kashyap, the All-Rounder who has scored 92 points in 8 matches has been the trump card for the Quick Guns and also the top Attacker of the tournament. He has been equally good in the defensive front with a defending time of 16:19 seconds, the best in the competition. They would also be hoping for P Narasayya to contribute as he has collected 47 points in eight matches. If they play to the calibre they have a strong chance of making this one count.

Mumbai Khiladis, on the other hand, are hanging by a thin thread. The Khiladis have played eight matches amongst which they have won three games and lost five games. It is a do-or-die game for Mumbai. They are coming into this game after a big loss against Odisha Juggernauts. Durvesh Salunke has been the talk of the town and has scored 60 points in eight matches. Sreejesh S has been his deputy with 54 points to his credit. The former has been the second-best Wazir in the competition while the latter has got 14:51 seconds as his defending time on the mat. If these two get their dancing shoes on, we can expect this to be a thrilling clash.

Head-to-Head:

In the last game between the two sides, Mumbai Khiladis faced a heavy defeat by a 65-45 margin.

Match 26: Telugu Yoddhas vs Gujarat Giants

Telugu Yoddhas are on the verge of making it to the playoffs. They are equal to Chennai Quick Guns in terms of wins and losses with four wins and four losses in their bag but thanks to their close 48-51 defeat against Gujarat Giants, they have got an additional point for that. The Yoddhas are coming into this game after a loss against Odisha Juggernauts in yesterday’s game. They have been a destructive powerhouse in the attack and the best in the business. Deepak Madhav has spent more time than any other Telugu Defender on the mat with a defending time of 14:11 seconds. They will be banking on players like Arun Gunki who has scored 63 points. Rohan Shingade has got 58 points to his name and Avdhut Patil has collected 49 points in eight matches.

On the other hand, Gujarat Giants are sitting comfortably in the second spot with six wins and two losses to their kitty. In the post-match chat with the anchor, their captain Ranjan Shetty said that they would look to give rest to some of their players. So, it will be a good time for the Giants to test their bench strength. They have put on a mighty impressive show in the inaugural season. It would be interesting to see if their coach Sanjeev Sharma gives rest to their top-class Wazir, Abhinandan Patil and star Attacker Aniket Pote. The Giants look like the strong team on paper but it promises to be a cracker of a game.

Head-to-Head:

Both teams have met once in the tournament, where Gujarat Giants registered a win by a scoreline of 50-44 against Telugu Yoddhas.
